It's a bird; It's a plane -- It's Capt. Doug's flying machine

Easy does it.  Now, where's that white line?

Doug shows cousin Tommy his new masterpiece.           Many hours of building, painting, and tieing up Patsy's utility room.  It really is an amazing machine!

Checking all her vital signs after sharing
the runway with a    crop duster.

(Checked Doug's too. He was fine - wheeew.)

Later . . . back at the hanger -- the Dodd family poses for a family shot after a big steak dinner at Traceway.

February 4, 2000  We headed over to Maben, Mississippi to stay with Aunt Joy for the weekend.  We shared wonderful family times with the cousins and their families.   Friday night, we all went over to the community hall to listen to "real" country music.  Tommy enjoyed playing steel while Doug sang some of our favorite tunes and played bass. We wiped out Springer dry Good's stock of jeans and belts (wanted to make sure Joy met her sales quota for the year).Got to witness some of the newly discovered family talent -- Leah (Carol's daughter) demonstrated her floor routine for an upcoming show. Patsy's new addition has a talent too (dog in her lap on left). He cleverly announces his outdoor "needs" by ringing the door bell.  Clayton was going to show us how to ride his new 4-wheeler like a Dodd man should, but it was getting dark, so we had to just take his word for it. Aunt Joy, the hostess with the most-est, spoiled us with her great cooking.  Even gave us some of her home grown/canned okra and tomatoes to take back. We left Sunday morning with a tummy full of Joy's biscuits & eggs, a smile on our face, and of course a few tears -- most grateful that we are blessed with a wonderful family.
